Single-phase dry-type transformer refers to the primary winding and secondary winding are single-phase winding transformer. Single-phase transformer structure is simple, small in size, and low loss. It is mainly small iron loss, suitable for application and promotion in low voltage distribution networks with small load density. The working principle of a single-phase transformer is based on the law of electromagnetic induction, which realizes the functions of voltage conversion, current conversion, impedance conversion, and isolation by changing the device of AC voltage.
Advantages and disadvantages of single-phase dry-type transformer with copper wire:
Advantages: Good electrical conductivity and thermal conductivity, small resistivity; high current-carrying capacity, small temperature rise; good mechanical properties, high mechanical strength; higher short-circuit resistance, dynamic stability, and thermal stability; smaller transformer volume under the same demand; not easy to oxidize, corrosion resistance.
Disadvantages: higher cost, larger quality; manufacturing process requirements are higher.
